Activities That Engage
At Davis Guest Home, we have a deep conviction that our clients deserve similar experiences to those that we have, relative to their ability or willingness to participate. We encourage individuals to come along, get involved, and enjoy a medley of experiences that help to keep both their minds and bodies busy, healthy, and active!

We would love to be able to display all of the pictures that illustrate the wonderful events that residents can take part in, but we are limited in showing the smiling faces that result, unfortunately. We can, however, highlight our amazing Activities Director, Chris.

Chris leads the charge with great gusto and zeal, spending each day adding a sense of adventure and purpose to our folks he serves... In short, he is a blessing to our residents in every way, and leads our staff in the promotion of good clean fun. Notably, he plays the guitar and ukulele, and will often swing by facilities to host classic rock sing-alongs! Look at this guy's picture... How could you NOT have fun with him around??

During Covid, when everything shut down, Chris opened up his church to us and made it into a community center for our residents which we've branded "Cadillac Cafe". It was a huge hit and gave our folks a place to watch first-run movies for free on a huge projector screen, sip iced lattes, or just relax and play games with staff. We've also used the space to host our residents at 'Uncle Lonny Presents' concerts in the park, have Disco Dance Nights, and of course, the annual Davis Guest Home Talent Show (not to be missed). All of this is a testament to Chris. His creativity and love for our residents knows no bounds.
Chris' great work builds on a philosophy that pre-dates him though, which is the core principal at Davis Guest Home that "Everybody Plays". Outside of his efforts, staff are constantly looking for ways to improve the lives of our residents. We have a packed calendar of staff-led in-house activities including art projects, cooking lessons, fun games, exercise opportunities (yoga is a hit at Salida), community service, and big events as well like Casino Day or Karaoke Sing-Offs.

At Davis Guest Home, we do Real Fun! right.
