Hope Haven International

A Non-Profit Organization
Bringing Hope, Dignity, Independence
To
People With Disabilities

Imagine wanting nothing more than to own a wheelchair. For thousands of people all over the
World, this is a very real desire. To them, a wheelchair means freedom. Without mobility of any kind, even a simple trip to the bathroom becomes a major challenge. Hope Haven International focuses on the distribution of free wheelchairs to the poorest of the poor. For those people, wheelchairs are considered a great luxury. Owning one means no longer having to drag themselves from place to place, or rely on others to carry them.

Central California Collection/Shipping Center:
Davis Guest Home/Lonny Davis
(209)538-1496

In April of 2001 Davis Guest Homes with assistance from a group of local volunteers began to collect wheelchairs and other mobility devices for refurbishment and distribution throughout the developing world.
Joining forces with Hope Haven International, our local volunteers have collected and shipped more that fifteen hundred wheelchairs this past year.
In January of 2003 we celebrated the opening of a forty-five hundred sq. ft. warehouse in Modesto. This warehouse will serve as a central collection and shipping center for Northern California.
Pick-up/drop –off locations and volunteers are presently located in Sacramento, Auburn, Manteca, Santa Rosa, Modesto and Madera. We welcome new volunteers and envision the addition of many more drop-off locations throughout Northern California.
We welcome all who will join with us in collecting discarded wheelchairs, walkers, crutches/canes and other unused or unwanted mobility devices in our communities. Many of these items can be rescued from our landfills, refurbished and make an incredible difference in someone’s life.
